Our founder established the company WebProof A/S in 1998, and during the first year developed business-to-business interactive relational database solutions.
We developed the first version of WebProof, an application for web based collaborative proofreading in the Graphic Arts industry, in conjunction with Bonnier Publications A/S, a large Danish publishing house. By 1999, we launched the WebProof product, producing the magazines Børsens Nyhedsmagasin (Stock Exchange's Newsmagazine) and Penge & Privatøkonomi (Money & Personal Finance).
Our big breakthrough came at DRUPA 2000 when WebProof launched the beta version of WebProof 3.0 in Düsseldorf, Germany. This third version was developed through research efforts which delved into the experience and speciality needs of the graphic arts industry. The program is, without a doubt, the most easily understood and user friendly web based proofreading software on the market today.
What makes WebProof so compelling is how tightly integrated all the components are. Since we own, develop, and operate everything - from the database and web interface, to WebFlow (the advanced high performance workflow software), to the servers where WebProof is hosted - we can innovate literally everywhere in the system.
We've also put the guys who develop the software next to the client support and sales teams, so we all can learn from each other. For our customers (and hopefully that will include you soon), it means there's only one number to call, one company to deal with, and the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. And we promise there will always be a real human on the phone to help, 24/7/365.
Today, as PDF technology has finally established itself as the professional proofreading file format, WebProof is the natural choice.
